Advertisers stay relevant with the Australian Prime Minister change-up

As I have been in South America for a while now, I haven’t really been keeping up-to-the-minute with current events in my home land, Australia.

So I was rather shocked when a fellow Aussie chatting to me at the bar said that K-Rudd was out and his second in command, Julia Gillard, was in power.

Now while I try to stay as far away from politics as much as I can (there are more interesting things in life), as a marketer I knew this would be the perfect time for nimble, opportunistic advertisers to deliver some media relevant messages.

And I wasn’t wrong.

Here is a selection of press ads that appeared alongside the cover-to-cover media coverage.
