It is a very simple equation in business, if you don’t innovate, in the long term you will die.

Unfortunately the process of developing an innovation, and making it a success in the market, is nowhere near as simple.

To navigate this complex process takes a special kind of person.

They are not fond of the status quo, and are willing to put themselves 100% behind a concept that is never guaranteed to take off.

INNOVATE OR DIE is dedicated to those people.

It aims to inspire future innovators by offering insights into innovative brands from the people who are building them.

Who am I?

I’m Chris Maloney and I am a marketing strategist, consultant, speaker and blogger based in Sydney, Australia.

I am currently Marketing Manager for HSBC Australia, and also provide consulting services under the brand Maloney on Marketing.

I have worked in the marketing industry for the last 10 years, with experience across:

  • Fitness (own personal training business, the ultimate course in relationship marketing)
  • Automotive (four new Ford vehicle launches)
  • Finance (everything from brand, to corporate finance, to consumer deposits and home loans).
  • Marketing Consulting (solar, travel, fashion, performing and visual arts, wine, photography, publishing and more)

Along the way I have been fortunate to be given the opportunities to develop marketing strategies and campaigns across almost every medium imaginable, including:

  • TV, Outdoor, Print, Radio, Online, Mobile, In Store, Experiential, Events, PR, Direct Mail, Telemarketing, Internal Communications…and Coffee Cups.

I am also passionate about fitness and formerly ran my own personal training business. In November 2010 I published an eBook titled Fitness Tips for Desk Jockeys available to sample and buy at Smashwords.

2009 IAB Awards Night

In 2008, working with our panel of agencies we developed the first digital marketing strategy for Commonwealth Bank Home Loans. Just 12 months later with New Dialogue we took out the 2009 IAB Award for Direct Response and Lead Generation.
